We have several policies regarding how and why
we do what we do - all of these policies are for the benefit of our members:
Qualified Teachers
We recognize that teaching practices and skills are
continually evolving and we actively support teaching staff attending the
seminars regularly arranged by the ASA & ISTC, this helps us keep up to date
with safety issues and teaching techniques
Safety
Whilst members are swimming at club sessions we ensure
that the following safety procedures are followed:
- Life Guard is always present, many of the teachers
are also qualified Life Savers
- Equipment is regularly checked to ensure it is fit
for use
- Qualified Teachers are also trained in the Child
Protection Policy (one effect of this is that no member of Club staff can give
a child a lift without the written permission from the parent/guardian)
Health
We retain confidential records of any medical conditions
and ensure that the appropriate teachers are informed. It is vital that members
ensure the club is kept informed of any changes so that the teaches can handle
any issues quickly and correctly.

Child Protection
All club officials and coaches are registered with the
Child Protection Agency and. as such, have fulfilled all the legal requirements
of that body.
