'Welcome to the home of Royal Wootton Bassett Otters'
'LAUNCH OF RWB TRIATHLON CLUB'
Tuesday 12th November saw the launch of a new Triathlon Club in Royal Wootton Bassett, part of the Royal WB Hounds Running Club.
Linda Frost, The Mayor of Royal WB and David Hooper from Triathlon England were there to help launch the first swimming
session at the Lime Kiln Leisure Centre.
Jacqui Wells, a Triathlon Coach, has set up the triathlon club as part of the long existing running club, which has over 100 members.
Mark Hopkins, Otters Masters Coach volunteered to help Jaqcui with the swimming sessions.
Nearly 30 swimmers attended the first of
six weekly sessions.
Mark put them through their paces, and was pleased with the progress all the swimmers made during their first session
"They all worked very hard tonight, I'm really pleased to have been asked to support this great new venture in the town".
The club already run regularly during the week, and now cycling sessions have been set up with Jacqui coaching the aspiring triathletes.
For more information on the Royal WB Hounds please see their website.
Last weekend saw the 'Grand Opening of Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Club' at Ballards Ash with a dazzling array
of events and games including a Community Touch Rugby tournament. Fielding a team made up of parents, teachers
and helpers, we managed a very impressive second place being beaten only by the rugby clubs' own team.
Congratulations to all those involved.
'ROYAL WOOTTON BASSET ROTARY CLUB YOUTH CHALLENGE 2013'
Congratulations to all our swimmers who took part in the Rotary Club Youth Challenge on Sunday 12th May.
We entered two teams who came 2nd and 4th, raising a massive £300 for the club in the process - Well done!
Also thank you to the Royal Wootton Bassett Rotary Club for your support over the years.
